Jusho-in is a private Zen Buddhist sub-temple within Myoshinji,
Kyoto — normally closed to the public. We welcome overseas visitors
for zazen meditation, Japanese calligraphy, and temple visits,
led by the 15th-generation head abbot.
Located in the world's largest Zen complex,
our 400-year-old garden remains unchanged since the Momoyama period.

Jusho-in is about a 5-minute walk from Myoshinji-kitamon-mae bus stop and Randen Myoshinji station .
And about 10-minute walk from JR Hanazono station (the 5th stop from Kyoto station),

About the chief priest

the chief priest of Jusho-in sub temple   Eitetsu Nishida

・Born:January 17,1979
・Education: Graduated from the Faculty of Law,Doshisha University
・After working for ten years as a national government  officer, he was ordained at Taizo-in sub temple.
・He then underwent training at the specialized monastery of Manju-ji Temple in Oita Prefecture.
・In October 2016, he was appointed as the 15th chief priest of Jusho-in sub temple of Myoshin-ji, one of the head temple of the Rinzai sect.
